Strengthening ties through Camcor

Since its founding in 2015, the Korean Chamber of Commerce (CAMCOR) has played a crucial role in strengthening cultural ties between South Korea and Central American countries. Through a series of cultural events, CAMCOR has managed to bring the rich Korean cultural heritage closer to the Central American region, fostering understanding and cooperation between both cultures.

One of the most notable events organized by CAMCOR was its participation in the "Salon Du Chocolàt Seoul" fair, where Guatemala and CAMCOR presented the diversity and quality of regional cocoa. This event not only promoted bilateral trade but also allowed Korean attendees to learn more about Guatemalan culture and traditions.

In 2019, CAMCOR organized a representation of South Korean culture at the National Palace of Culture in Guatemala. This event included exhibitions of Korean art, music and cuisine, giving Guatemalans the opportunity to experience first-hand the cultural richness of South Korea.

Another significant event was the signing of the Agreement between CAMCOR and the International Barista Association in the city of Goyang, South Korea. This agreement not only strengthened commercial ties, but also promoted cultural and professional exchange between baristas from both countries.

Throughout each year, multiple approaches have been held, both in Korea and Central America. The last one, held at the Westin Camino Real Hotel, where Korean influencers shared the methodologies successfully applied on social networks and that have given great relevance to the Korean Wave.

In addition, CAMCOR has been a key player in promoting tourism between Korea and Guatemala. Through various activities and campaigns, they have managed to increase the interest of Koreans to visit Central America and vice versa, thus promoting an enriching cultural exchange.

In short, CAMCOR has been a vital cultural bridge between Korea and Central America, organizing events that not only promote trade and investment, but also bring people and cultures from both regions closer together. Its commitment to cultural exchange has left a lasting mark on the relations between Korea and Central American countries.
